Finding a taxi on St. Maarten/St. Martin is not necessarily the easiest thing to do. Short of walking to the taxi stands on either Front Street in Philipsburg or to the Airport Terminal, the attempt to find a taxi can be a challenging one. Particularly in the evenings when, at certain hours, it is not just challenging but downright impossible.
The Yellow Pages in the phone book do not have a section for taxis and in the regular book, looking for the word "Taxi" will return a big zero. An internet search will reveal two telephone numbers, one for either of the taxi stands mentioned above but in many cases nobody will answer and the hunt for a taxi can hit a blank wall right there leaving you stranded and wondering how on Earth you are going to get where you want to go.
But do not fear. GENESIS is now here. This new taxi dispatching company will answer their phone 24/7 and get you a taxi usually within 10 minutes wherever you are on the island at whatever time.
